Roland Hwang

Bio

Roland Hwang is the managing director of the Natural Resources Defense Council's Climate & Clean Energy Program, based in San Francisco, California. Mr. Hwang joined NRDC in 2000. Previously, Mr. Hwang has worked for the Union of Concerned Scientists, the Department of Energy at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Mr. Hwang is an expert on clean energy technologies and policies and has co-authored over ten NRDC reports. Mr. Hwang has served on a number of committees including two National Academy of Sciences Committees, and he was part of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. Mr. Hwang has a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering both from the University of California at Davis, and a Masters in Public Policy from the University of California at Berkeley.
